Preparations for the mayor of London New Year’s Eve fireworks are progressing well, the three main barges moored in front of the London Eye are loaded at a dock in East London, 30 tonnes of equipment is craned on and distributed across the barges.
A team of 24 pyrotechnicians work over five days to rig all the racks and pyro holders, load and secure the fireworks and then wire in 4000 igniters. The weather has been excellent with clear blue skies, it may be cold but at least it is dry.
